Trainee Technical and Sales Support Engineer

We are looking for a motivated and curious individual to join our team as a Trainee Technical & Sales Support Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for a college leaver to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and growing business.

No prior experience is required—full training will be provided.

 

About Solite Europe Ltd

Solite Europe Ltd designs and manufactures specialist lighting for controlled environments. Our products are used in cleanrooms for pharmaceutical and semiconductor manufacturers, hospital operating theatres, prisons, food processing facilities, and car battery manufacturing sites. We are part of FW Thorpe PLC, a group of nine companies employing around 800 people.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assisting engineers with technical projects and day-to-day tasks
• Programming LED drivers (full training provided)
• Supporting lab testing and helping prepare reports
• Updating and maintaining technical documents and databases
• Checking drawings and work instructions for accuracy
• Assisting with spare parts and corrective actions
• Supporting quality processes and internal procedures

 

What You’ll Learn

• Practical engineering skills in electronics and manufacturing
• How to use technical drawings and CAD systems
• Problem-solving and quality control processes
• Real-world project and team collaboration experience

What We’re Looking For

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good attention to detail
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• An interest in engineering, electronics, or how things work
• GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths, English and Science

Desirable but not essential:

• Basic CAD knowledge

Location and Hours of Work

• Stockport (close to the Portwood/Tesco roundabout)
• 36 ¼ hours per week
